ST. JOSEPH — Berrien County Sheriff Chuck Heit is being criticized regarding his appearance at former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Grand Rapids earlier this month.

During the public comment portion of the Berrien County Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday, Mike Schnable and his wife, Val Schnable, expressed concerns about Heit’s attendance in uniform at Trump’s campaign event.
