BENTON HARBOR — Part of a housing and commercial development project to be built on the former Mercy Hospital site in Benton Harbor is being put on hold due to an environmental concern.

Benton Harbor Interim City Manager Alex Little said some kind of hydrocarbon, possibly gasoline, is flowing onto the smaller of the two parcels the development is slated to be built on.
