Veteran South Haven High School softball coach and retired math teacher Wilma Wilson was set this past week to reach a milestone – 800 victories as a high school coach. The Rams defeated Allegan this past Tuesday in a doubleheader to up Wilson’s victories as a coach to 798.

What follows is a story written by Pam Shebest for the Michigan High School Athletic Association several weeks ago.

Pam Shebest served as a sportswriter at the Kalamazoo Gazette from 1985-2009 after 11 years part-time with the Gazette while teaching French and English at White Pigeon High School.
